Last week, a survey was distributed among Blue Jay Blog readers on social media to gather information about their preferences in the 2016 US election.
The results are now available. Analysing the responses state by state, here is the breakdown of the WBW electoral map:

Despite Hillary being the majority choice in every state among WBW readers, there are still tens of thousands of readers who are not voting for her. The complete results, including non-US WBW readers, almost mirror those of US readers:

In a WBW election scenario where Hillary wins every state, the more intriguing map shows the candidate who secured the second position in each state among WBW readers:
Additionally, a closer look was taken among WBW readers who have consistently sided with one party in past elections. They were asked to disclose their voting history in previous presidential elections, highlighting “party voters” who consistently voted with the same party in the last five elections.
Here is how historically loyal Democrat WBW readers—those who supported Obama, Kerry, Gore, and Bill Clinton in the past—are voting in the current election:
While the majority remains loyal, 6.1% of staunch Democratic WBW readers are not supporting Hillary, likely indicating a preference for Bernie Sanders.
Here is the voting trend among historically Republican WBW readers—those who backed Romney, McCain, Bush, and Dole:
Roughly half of staunch Republican WBW voters are supporting Trump while the other half is divided. Approximately 1/7 of loyal Republican WBW readers are opting for Hillary, marking a significant shift for them.
To gauge enthusiasm, readers were asked about their private opinions on the candidate they are voting for:

Answer options included:
- I actually like them
- I’m not thrilled with them, but they’ll do
- I’m only voting for them because I can’t stand the other candidates
- I can’t stand any of the candidates, including the person I’m voting for, but I would rather they win
