In a recent release, NASA unveiled the largest image ever taken of the Andromeda Galaxy, our nearest cosmic neighbor to the Milky Way. This immense 4.3 GB image was captured using the Hubble Telescope and consists of 411 individual images, boasting a staggering 1.5 billion pixels (69,536 x 22,230).
The video presentation provides a comprehensive view of the entire image and then zooms in to showcase the incredible density of stars within. The journey through the image covers approximately 100 million stars, which represents just a fraction (less than 1/1,000th) of the total number of stars present in the Andromeda Galaxy, spanning over 40,000 light years.
Additionally, the video offers a glimpse of how the Andromeda Galaxy would appear in our night sky if it were brighter.
